The Family Partnership was founded in 1878 as the Minneapolis Humane Society to protect and serve children that were being abused or exploited. Along with a few name changes, our work has continually transformed to anticipate and address the evolving needs of families and individuals, many of whom are the most vulnerable in our community.

Wages and Benefits

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour; This position is not eligible for benefits except for participation in agency sponsored retirement savings plan and accrual of Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave.

SCHEDULE

This position is fully in-person and includes scheduled hours Monday through Friday. This part-time role is 16 hours per week.

A Typical Day in the Life…

A typical day as The Family Partnership’s Support Services Representative provides an opportunity to ensure the efficient operation of the agency’s programs and mission including office support for the Behavioral Health Department, Family & Community Programs, and Early Childhood programs. Other responsibilities will include the following:

  • Answering phones, taking messages, and redirecting calls as necessary.
  • Scheduling various appointments including intakes, resolving scheduling conflicts, and managing calendars.
  • Providing knowledge and information on the agency, programs, and staff to support visitors and clients.
  • Obtaining client/participant information to provide services or make referrals.
  • Receiving service or program fees.
  • Ensuring that the property of the agency is adequately maintained and meets programmatic needs.
  • Making copies and sending and receiving faxes.
  • Typing correspondence, word processing, and data entry.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Ensuring filing and file maintenance is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Generating reports.
  • Creating and/or completing forms/documents for various programs, staff members, participants, and/or clients.
  • Providing assistance or filling-in at other agency locations as needed.
  • Recording and maintaining confidential participant/client information.
  • Proactively resolving issues and finding solutions to meet agency needs for staff and clients.
  • Maintaining an orderly and up-to-date supply inventory.
  • Assisting with the set-up and clean-up of conference rooms.
  • Implementing systems to aid in the flow of paperwork and internal communications.

Who You Are

  • You hold a High School diploma/GED.
  • You have three years of administrative work experience with preferably one year of experience in a clinical setting.
  • It is highly preferable if you speak Spanish due to the population we serve.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You possess strong customer service, relationship, and problem-solving skills.
  • You are skilled in time management with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and adapt as needed.
  • You are highly organized and detail oriented.
  • You have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team with limited supervision.
  • You have the ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  • You have a broad knowledge of office functions and equipment (fax, printer, scanner, etc.).
  • You have advanced knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • You have the ability to accurately type, including inputting and retrieving data from a database system.
  • You have the ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
  • You have the ability to quickly access and acquire knowledge of community resources.
  • You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet TFP’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
