Description
   BASIC FUNCTION:

This job posting/recruitment is being conducted to fill temporary (not to exceed 6 months in length) appointments.  Applicants/Candidates chosen for hire from this process will not gain rights or preference for other permanent, Ramsey County jobs.

Applicants hired for the Park Aide 1 vacancies, will work on the Golf Course, Tamarack Nature Center, or in one of the Park districts.

Golf Course duties include: cup changing, tee service, sand bunker maintenance including manual raking, string trimmer and rotary push mower operation and all operations associated with a golf course.  Some operation of utility vehicles, golf cars and other light equipment may be required.  Approximate hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and Saturday/Sunday from 5:30 am to 9:00 am.  There is no guarantee of a 40-hour work week due to weather events, special tournaments, etc.  Working on the weekends is highly likely.

Park District duties include: cleaning buildings, removing trash, mowing and trimming, painting, raking and shoveling debris.  Applicants will also assist in maintaining the beach areas, inspect and clean park accessories such as picnic tables, grills, benches, charcoal barrels, signs, docks, fishing piers, and playground equipment.  Work schedule options are either:  (1) Tuesday - Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, Saturday 5:00 am to 1:00 pm (Sunday and Monday off) or (2) Sunday 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm (Friday and Saturday off).

Tamarack Nature Center duties include:  assisting janitorial and maintenance staff by cleaning buildings, removing trash, mowing, weeding, removing brush, set-up and take-down of tables and chairs, assisting patrons, and other duties as assigned. Assisting with light maintenance and support for summer programs including day camp, large group programs, birthday parties and more. Some operation of utility vehicles, golf carts and other light equipment required. 80% of work performed is outdoors, 20% indoors. Required work schedule will be: Tuesday-Friday 8:00-4:30, Saturday 9:00-5:30 (Sunday and Monday off).
