Interfaith Outreach is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Community Resource Coordinator position (40 hours/week, benefits earning). The Neighborhood Program provides services on-site at affordable rental housing communities located in Plymouth and Medina. This Coordinator position supports the strengths and interests of two housing communities where most of the resident families identify as African American in one community, while in the second community the demographics will not be known until the building is fully leased up in 2022. Both housing communities are based in a majority white, financially stable community. Program goals include family and housing stability, youth success and healthy community connections.

Core areas of responsibility include:

  • Support and provide opportunities for neighborhood community-building among residents and the broader community
  • Be available to provide individual support to residents, adapt support based on resident needs, and help residents access community resources related to family support, food, housing and neighborhoods, education and youth, employment, and transportation
  • Manage assigned programs including:
  • Community dinners/events
  • Out-of-school-time youth programs
  • Promote community leadership and community-led projects
  • Support ongoing collaborative work with key program partners related to the Neighborhood Program (property managers, Wayzata schools, faith communities, community-based organizations)
  • Participate in team planning of volunteer recruitment, orientation and training
  • Coordinate volunteer participation in program operations

Required qualifications include: 

  • BA in related field, BSW preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work on-site, 5 days per week and some evenings
  • Program development and coordination experience
  • Experience working with low-income families
  • Working knowledge of how systemic racism has impacted African American communities
  • Ability to network and develop community partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience working with populations of diverse age, income, race, national origin and disabilities
  • Experience working with youth
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with limited supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to travel between work sites

Preferred qualifications:

  • Social work license
  • 2-5 years of direct service experience working with low-income families and program management experience
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Community organizing experience
  • Experience using data to inform changes and adapt work
  • Ability and willingness to transport program participants in the Neighborhood Program van

Compensation: $43,472 - $48,048 annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package.
